About RIOLAB Interoperability Testing Lab Sponsors News
Prior to testing at RIOLAB, customers must review all documentation and execute RIOLAB non-disclosure agreement. In addition, when booking a reservation for testing, customers are required to submit all prerequisite test results as described in Test Level Definitions and submit payment for the test session in advance.

Customers are responsible for providing two sets of device hardware for any given test session, one of which will remain in RIOLAB as part of the growing library of interoperable devices upon successful completion of testing. Two sets of device hardware also provides a level of redundancy should it be needed. Any endpoints that can connect to RIOLAB infrastructure can be used. Currently, AMC, SMA, and HIP are supported. Switches that have connections to two or more of the following – AMC, SMA or HIP – may be used. Beyond the connection any other required equipment, such as clock generators, power supplies, emulators and so on, must be provided by the customer. Note: It is recommended that hardware – especially switch based hardware – supports the serial RapidIO connectorless probe footprint standard otherwise some tests will not be capable of being validated.

For endpoint vendors, appropriate software support must be provided. All required software and/or related tools needed for loading and running the software must be provided along with appropriate user documentation. This includes an appropriate RTOS with Ethernet support and a RapidFET server with a means to either boot from Flash or through use of an emulator or similar hardware, which has been provided. A free RapidFET server porting kit is available or if preferred, services may be provided to facilitate this for customers. For more information, or please contact RIOLAB.

Tests are run over a two to ten day period depending on the DI and SC level being tested and the number of devices being tested in the lab at any given time. Upon the conclusion of the test session, the results will be provided to the vendor in the form of a detailed Results Report. Depending on a positive outcome and mutual agreement between RIOLAB and its customers, appropriate public relations activities will be initiated including making results available on the RIOLAB web site.
